Why we are called this

Why Six Impossible Things?

Because the White Queen had a point.

An open handwritten journal with a pocket watch and an old brass key on the page, a teacup and a stack of books by Lewis Carroll behind.

“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

Who we are

A quiet, guiding hand

Making kind, human-sized things, patiently and in plain words, can feel a little impossible. We think it is the only way worth working.

Six Impossible Things is the parent of a small family, led by Casper. It looks after CallCasper, IsoSym, The Curious Brew and The Warren, and lets each keep its own personality. Like a good parent, it stays in the background: a supportive, inclusive guiding hand that appears only as a small “by Six Impossible Things” and never talks over the family member it stands behind.

Three principles

What we keep to

No long charters. Just three commitments that shape what we make and how we write.

01

Curiosity first

We invite rather than instruct. Questions come before assumptions, and we follow them where they lead.

02

No pressure

No countdown timers, no manufactured urgency, nothing that suggests failure or guilt. Choices carry equal weight.

03

Plain words

Short sentences, and a clear line about what happens next. If we cannot explain it simply, we think again.

Our promise

Ask. Wonder. Try.

Ask

Start with a real question, and let it be a small one.

Wonder

Stay with it a while before reaching for an answer.

Try

Make something small and see what happens. Then begin again.

A note on care

Support, never diagnosis

We support; we don’t diagnose or treat. Playfulness has its place, mostly in our newsletter. It stays out of anything serious, such as payments, settings and legal text, where we say what we mean as clearly as we can.
